Control

It's an illusion.

While it may appear that there are at least some things you can control, the fact is that there isn't.

There are, however, definite things everyone knows are beyond their control.

The weather.

Time.

How you feel about someone.

How someone else feels about you.
(I'm not talking about knee jerk reactions, I mean the deeply rooted bond some people that have known each other half their lives develop.)

The fact is, there is one thing, and only one thing you can control:

Your actions.

This is why thinking is so vital and essential. Every action causes and equal and opposite reaction. This is a fundamental law of physics. It's one of those immutable laws of the universe.

It is, therefore, not only wise, but imperative that people think before they act. I'm often teased because of my slow cadence, but people don't realize that I'm doing something most people don't.

I'm deliberately thinking about what I want to say and do.

Perhaps if more people did the same, there'd be less pain and senseless death in the world.

I'm not saying it would go away, but it would be markedly reduced.

Just a thought, folks.
