Bugs

Darkness always fades away
As weakness gives to might.
There is no night without a day
Nor day without a night.
Listen, friends, I tell you true
As sure as I would sit with you.
The grass is green,
The sky is blue,
And water is wet.
But let's not set upon the known.
The trees,
The children,
The world
Has grown.
And so shall we.
It's just that way.
Just as night will fade to day.
C'est la vie
(Or so they say).
But I tell you,
I know,
One day...
The world will turn in every way.

Legions and legions of bugs
Will take our homes!
They'll pull our rugs
From 'neath our feet!
They'll pour out into every street!
And when they're done their vile raid
They'll sit and drink our lemonade!
They'll mosey 'round
Like all is well.
They'll shout
"Good riddance!"
"Go to hell!"
They outnumber us
You see?
A hundred to one,
Easily.
They'll march forth
From every tree,
Every rock,
And every lea.
They want their planet back,
You see.
They've come for you
They've come for...

    1. I don't even remember. This is a feeble attempt at poetry from many, many moons ago.
