Life is Not a Game of Paper, Scissors, Rock.

The right thing isn't always the easy thing. It's called consideration for others, and some people just don't fucking get it. Every now and then, you simply have to do something to make life better for someone else, even if it means things will be a little harder for you.

It's the human fucking condition.

It's called being an adult.

Every now and then, you just have to suck it up, and do the right thing, instead of the easy thing.

I forget which nation it's attributed to, but someone among my people said something to the effect of "we don't own the Earth, we merely borrow it from our children."

That's part of the code by which I live my life. Part of that ideal is knowing when to do the right thing.

If the right thing means you go without so that someone important to the future has a better time, or an easier life, that's what the motherfucking fuck you're supposed to do.

If that means you have to sacrifice a night out and instead spend time honing a member of the next generation to take the reigns, that's what you do.

If it means you have to swallow your fucking pride to carve out a path for your kids (even when that means stepping out of the way because you've become an obstruction), that's what the fuck you do.

I will never understand this current generation's penchant for instant gratification. This ridiculous idea of "this is what I want, and I deserve it simply because I want it."

Where the fuck did this come from?

Who the fuck are you?

Why the fuck are you more important than the people that will be here after you've returned to the dust from whence you came?

Tell me... tell the world... explain why you matter more than those coming after you in the grand scheme of things?

Each and every one of us has an obligation to the generations coming after us, not to simply make things easier or more tolerable, but to actually prepare them... PREPARE them for what lies ahead. We can't shelter them from it. We can't always be there to deflect the blows for them, but God motherfucking damn it, we can sure as hell make sure they're ready to dodge, bob, weave, and yes, even sometimes roll with the punches. The best way to do that... the best way to teach anything, is by example.

I guess maybe what I'm trying to say, is "Hey, America! Grow the fuck up!"

It's time to put on your big boy underoos and do the right thing instead of the easy thing.

Just some advice.
