Panic!

So, Christopher Dorner is to be the first U.S. Citizen on domestic soil targeted by drones...and there doesn't seem to be much outrage about it.

Admittedly, there is a difference between surveillance UAVs, and Predator drones, but do you know what that difference is? One is armed, one isn't. That's all. While the likelihood of a citizen being targeted by a Predator on American soil is largely speculation, it's also become a real possibility.

Normally, I'd smile derisively, and offer a wave of dismissal for the conspiracy theorists in situations like these, but as it turns out, I have my own borderline paranoid concerns.

North Korea.

No one seems to be paying attention.

What's it going to take?

Does Kim JongUn have to hop a plane to D.C. and kick the president in the nutsack in the middle of the 4th of July parade?

They have just tested a nuclear weapon. Not a missile, not a rocket, not a "device."

They called it a "nuclear weapon."

They have openly threatened the
U.S. repeatedly, and defiantly.

They have explicitly declared that they will perceive enforcement of current sanctions as "acts of war... and retaliate..."

While the idea that a predator drone might find it's way up Christopher Dorner's ass can still be relegated to speculation and plausible paranoia, the notion that Kim Jong Un is gearing up for war is not.

It is very real.

Remember, there's no peace treaty, just a 60 year old ceasefire agreement, and a demilitarized zone.

That's all.

I think it's time to start paying attention to actual threats, but we have to do it in a dignified way. Let's not self-suspend our rights out of fear.
